While there is strong evidence supporting both safety and efficacy for certain supplements, there are many supplement that are not backed by strong clinical evidence for efficacy.</p>
<p>However, if someone has low bone density, Vitamin D and Calcium might be appropriate. If cardiovascular health is a concern, someone might explore using a fiber supplement and an Omega-3 supplement, such as fish oil.</p>
<p>It is very important to discuss what supplements you are taking with your provider, especially if you are taking medication. Combining dietary supplements and medications can have dangerous and even life-threatening effects.</p>
